When just starting to play the sax, you probably don't want to be spending a lot of reeds on money. Beginners tend to use softer reeds, size 1.5 or 2. This will make it easier for them to play and once their more experiece you may move up to a 2.5 or higher.
When buying reeds you might want to buy a smaller pack before buying a big value pack to make sure you like them. Not all reeds in the pack are the same, some might work better than others just because of the wood used to make them. A lot of people just use the basic Rico Reeds when starting out, you don't really need anything fancy.
Since you did mention taking lessons it wouldn't be a bad idea to see what your teacher suggests. Right now I happen to be using Vandoren Java reeds just because they work well for me eventhough they are meant more for jazz which I don't even play a lot of. There is a big variety of reeds out their, but for a beginner just get a basic one to start off with.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
