Polish was the first language you spoke and is (presumably) the language of your family and cultural background, so it is and always will be your native language. But if you no longer speak it well and can't read or write in it (basically you're illiterate in Polish) it's not your first language. The language you use on a day to day basis, and the only one out of the two that you're fluent in is English.
So English is your first / primary language. It's not for me to judge, but if I were in your position I would try to relearn Polish. Having a foreign language is a desired skill in England and since a lot of it will just be remembering stuff you used to know, it would be a lot easier than starting a new language from scratch.
Plus wouldn't it be good to go to Poland and be able to say and read anything you like?
If that's case, your native (first) language is Polish, not English. Now, your dominant language is English but your first language would still be Polish.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
