The troop elects a single senior patrol leader (SPL) to lead the troop. The SPL appoints one or more assistant senior patrol leaders (ASPL) to assist him. Each patrol elects its own patrol leader.
The troop determines the requirements, if any, for patrol leaders, such as rank and age. Elections take place twice each year. All other positions are appointed, with the assistance of the Scoutmaster, by either the senior patrol leader or the patrol leaders.
