Even though I'm a guy, I still recognize the importance of taking care of your skin. I have dry skin too, mostly in the winter. I also like hot showers, which doesn't help too much.
I would recommend almost anything with shea butter. I like a product called "Shea Butter Body Lotion by Mode de Vie". Its best used right after a bath or shower while the surface of your skin is still moist and has not had a chance to dry out yet.
I have also used "Sakura and Green Tea" by Terranova in Berkeley, CA. +1 on the Bag Balm for hands, but the best cream for hands I have used is something made by an herbalist in NY's Hudson Valley. Its called "Manna Hand Creme" and its available at Jean's Greens, an herbalist in the Albany, NY area (I am not affiliated with any of these businesses, products, etc., when I like something, I just can't say enough good things about it).
You might look at your diet too, and make changes where necessary to keep the moisture level of your skin balanced. Drink plenty of water, eat more raw foods, add ground up flax seed to foods to increase flax seed oil content, and avoid fried and junk foods. These tips are found in one of the sites listed below.
Also, the herbalist I mentioned has some teas which are good for healthy skin.
Probably the best thing I have ever used for dry skin that lasts more than five minutes would be Bag Balm it comes in these ugly green cans but it does wonders I used to have the worst hands always dry and peeling due to my working outside and with cardboard which dried it out horribly, since I started using BB I have hands softer than my wifes! :) hope this helps I will attach a link below for them too, P.S. When you look it up it is technically made for animals BUT I promise I am not crazy do a little research on it and you will see people use it too ;) bagbalm.com.
I had the same problem for years, especially on my face. I asked my doctor about it one time and he recommended using AVEENO Skin Relief Moisturzing Lotion It's dermatologist recommended and it's a very inexpensive, over-the-counter moisturizer. As well as all that good stuff, it's made with natural colloidal oatmeal and cooling menthol.
When I'd wake up, I'd jump in the shower, get out and just PAT the water off of my face. Then, I'd put some of the cream on and go about my day. It works great under make-up too!
Before I'd go to bed, I'd gently wash my facen and apply the cream again, then hit the sheets! Actually, this just made me realize that I havent used the product in a couple of days.....but my skin isn't dry at all. So, it works.
Hope it helps.
I usually use inexpensive lotions from drugstores, like Vaseline, Eucerin, or Cetaphil. They work extremely well, and are inexpensive. But everyone is different, so these products may not work for you.
I think Cetaphil brings the best results though when it comes to moisturizing, so I use it on my face and body.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
