I think the movie that always makes me laugh and will never fail to do so, is What About Bob. Bill Murray is hilarious in this movie, and almost every scene is a side-splitter. Take the dinner scene.
This is probably where I laugh the most: youtube.com/watch?v=KvVKFCP5cCA Then there's Richard Dreyfus, who plays an uptight Dr. Leo Marvin who goes insane due to his patient, Bob's, antics. The two of them play so wonderfully off of each other. Bob is so carefree and pretty much clueless, when Leo is going mad because no one understands his situation.
The acting in this movie is GREAT, on all parts, and this is partially why I think it works so great as a comedy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfxOWvLeLA8
.Hot Fuzz is hilarious and one of my favourite ever films. There are loads of funny moments and even if you watch it 10 times its still funny.
My sense of humor is a little towards the Adult Jokes. Since I am not a native English speaker, I most concentrate on the jokes involving actions. At the moment I can think of a couple of movies which I think is great in my sense of humor.1.
Amercian Pie 1, 2, 3. I think the first three of these movies are the best in the series. The others such as Band Camp, Naked Mile, Beta House and Book of Love are not up to the standard.
I still laugh when I see the clips from these movies.
2. Naked Gun 1, 2, 3 Leslie Nielsen is a comedy genius.I love most of his movies including the Pink Panther and these three.
/200px-Nakedguntrilogy.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJEmtLxkEoI Some of the other movies I remember.1. Team America 2.Scary Movie series 3. Pink Panther 1, 2 4. Forrest Gump 5.
Home Alone 1, 2, ,3 6. Dennis the Menace ( I can't remember the exact movie. Saw when I was in grade 6 or 7).
There are soooo many films in this thread that make me bust a gut laughing every single time I see them but the one film that I watch a lot more than others when I want or need a good laugh is Borat. I really enjoyed the whole character created by Mr. Cohen especially how he took the character on the road outside of the film because that brought more believability to the absolutely unbelievable and unbelievably funny character Borat in the film. Natalia could EASILY be the number 1 prostitute in all of Kazakhstan is she just took credit cards and was more willing to travel.
I have a few that I love to watch over every now and then. 1) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2) American Pie 3) Friday 4) Hang Over 5) Bringing Down the House In everyone one of these movies they are doing or saying something that makes me laugh. youtube.com/watch?v=decUIVkZ4GI youtube.com/watch?v=7rwJsFY8CvY imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi4222091545/ imdb.com/video/imdb/vi3601728025/ http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi985399577.
Kenny! This was so funny to me. This poor guy lol. It's a mockumentary about Australian port a potty guy.
It's so funny! youtube.com/watch?v=I0vE4ygyv6g If you want to see more watch the one titled vandals at youtube, it was quite a bit of language so I didn't post it here. Another one, from my past: Ferris Bueller's Day Off youtube.com/watch?v=TO68zwTXFWk.
I like Zoolander, Meet the Parents, Naked Gun and for tv shows, Friends. I think the duo of Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson is great. Sometimes Jacky Chan movies are also funny specially the Rush Hour series with Chris Tucker.
Blazing Saddles is the first one that comes to my mind. I've always been a fan of both Gene Wilder and Harvey Korman, but my favorite part is when the sheriff (Cleavon Little) holds himself hostage and all the townspeople fall for it. I love spoofy satire, comedies, and westerns and this movie has them all.
Note: no offense is meant by this clip. It's just funny!
For me unfortunately, as far as those laugh out loud moments go, the law of diminishing returns applies to pretty much every comedy I've seen. Some personal fav's though that make me smile, that may have not been mentioned yet: The Burbs ("Red Rover, Red Rover send Art on over"), Blazing Saddles ("Scuse me while I whip this out"), Red Hot American Summer (throwing campers from the van), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (the Dracula puppet play is classic), The Royal Tannenbaums (those paintings on the wall killed me), Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Sex But Were Afraid to Ask (Wilder with the Sheep) Take the Money and Run (Allen playing cello in the marching band), Silver Bullet (Wilder again, and Richard Prior).
Nothing To Lose, starring Tim Robins & Martin Lawrence (This movie is hillarious! ).
Number 3 BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA "Okay. You people sit tight, hold the fort and keep the home fires burning. And if we're not back by dawn... call the president" "Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake.
Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol' storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it. " This movie has a great pulp feel with hamfisted action and hammy comedy, this film is completely over the top and it revels in that fact.
imdb.com/title/tt0090728/ Number 2 YOUNG FRANKENSTIEN I did not select quotes as this film is 100% delivery! The lines didn't seem that funny in isolation but with a wink a grin or a totally dry delivery it was comedy gold. This fantasticly witty film has some of my favorite sight gags.
Sometimes it is just the situations and expressions that make me laugh out loud. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072431/ Number 1 GHOST BUSTERS "Listen . .. Do you smell something?" "Ray when someone asks you if you're a god you say 'YES'!
" "Well, this is great. If the ionization-rate is constant for all ectoplasmic entities, we can really bust some heads... in a spiritual sense, of course." Few movies make me laugh out loud like Ghost Busters.
There were a ton of priceless one liners and the team of actors had fantastic comic timing in that film. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087332.
I would have to say that The Princess Bride is my go-to funny movie. That movie is so hilariously quotable. Others such as Zoolander, Dumb and Dumber, and Jumanji.
Dodge Ball is one that seems to come up in our family rotation every 6 months or so and we always laugh at it. (can not link to it since I am at wurk). "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!" "What?
" WHAM!
A bunch of great ones have already been listed. I'll just mention the first two that came to mind when I read the question. O Brother, Where Art Thou youtube.com/watch?v=I1C2gCXo4Gs Dogma youtube.com/watch?v=20CRw3XdETA.
Top 3: 1) The first Naked Gun 2) Airplane ("Quit calling me Shirley") 3) Tie-Dogma (The Jay and Silent Bob parts) and Naked Gun 2 1/2.
There's soooooooo many that make me laugh, but the first one that came to mind would have to be National Lampoon's European Vacation. "Big Ben, kids!
I love Tommy Boy, Chris Farley But if I had to pick, I think those would be the top ones.
There are too many answers to this question, but I'll jump in with a film that I love to pull out for friends who visit and haven't seen it. They really squirm in their chairs as they laugh again and again, and will occasionally ask "but do they GET it? " Being There, with Peter Sellers and an all-star cast.
Based on the Jerzy Kosinski story. This is one of the most biting and hilarious political satires out there. Peter Sellers tried for years to get it made, and I'm so glad he managed it.
S other films are outstanding, but this one is a tour-de-force. youtube.com/watch?v=BwZzRB461bY.
Supertroopers never gets old for me. Love Caddyshack, and an obscure one Spies Like Us. Fletch is also one of my favorites of all time.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
