Pretty much every reality TV show TV shouldn't be real. I want to watch actors telling me a story. I don't want to see people do stupid things to get money.
American Idol is probably the most tolerable "reality TV" because it showcases actual talented people doing things related to the entertainment industry (i.e. Entertaining me, in theory). I still don't watch it.My favorite shows are House, Lost, and 24.
CSI. Actually, all of them, but I'll focus on the first one. The "originator."
I tried to like CSI, really I did. But I found it to be overly enamored with it’s own cleverness, and though it is visually slick, I find it so completely unbelievable that it ruins my enjoyment of the technical achievements, and the acting skills of Marg Helgenberger and others in the cast. Yes, I know TV requires some suspension of disbelief.
But for some reason it’s easier for me to do with other shows. The one just seems so preening. The writing is almost physically painful to me.
The other CSIs are worse. NY wastes the talents of its stars. Gary Sinise seems like it takes all of his skills to not bust a gut at the things his character sees and does and says.
And David Caruso is less charismatic than his sunglasses. Betterlater's Recommendations C.S.I. It's awful. Who wants to watch an overweight hick doctor get in people's faces about their issues. I do find it funny that his son just married a Playboy bunny.
Perhaps he should consider some introspection.
Star Trek I just could not get into it and do not understand the obsessiveness of the fans .
Big Brother and Wife Swap are just simply dumb There are quite a few shows out there that I can't stand to watch and then also a few that just annoy me yet I stop and watch them while flipping channels anyway. Actual scripted shows: CSI: Miami - I hate Horatio Cain, his arrogance drives me crazy. He's a idiot and cannot act.
I do however absolutely love CSI, and CSI: NY. Reality shows: Wife Swap on ABC. Have you ever seen this show?
Who would EVER trade their wife for someone else's wife - especially when you already have two or three kids to deal with!? And people laugh at these people's misery!Unbelievable. Laguna Beach on MTV.
Ugh. Why do we need more shows glamourizing badly behaved, spoiled brat teenage girls whose only reason for existence is to shop, eat out and steal each others boyfriends? All that money and these girls (the guys, too) are dumb as stumps.
Most of the newer reality shows that just steal the original ideas. The original ones are OK..but all the rip offs and "clone" ones are just mediocre and most have no actual meaning. Fear Factor...they all just get so boring and annoying after awhile.
I used to watch Fear Factor a lot but the more I watched it the less interested it seemed. For the most part, its the same old stuff now and nothing new or exciting. Big Brother.
Like most of the other watch and see what happens reality show, this show is just a pointless biased view from the producers. Of course when you take a bunch of strangers and lock them in a house with stupid "games" that they have to compete in you are going to get drama. If you like watching a train wreck then go ahead, otherwise find something of quality value for your brain elsewhere.
I suggest putting something on that is either good entertainment or just put on a informative show you can get on Discovery. Video I can get the same level of entertainment by sitting at a bus stop in downtown and watching people there. Plus I will actually get some fresh air while doing it.
