What's "in demand" now might not be "in demand" 5 years from now. And those newspaper articles about what majors are "in demand" are often very stupidly narrow and unrealistic. Lots of colleges let you roll your own major that IS "catered to your interests," as long as it also meets their reasonable definition of what an educated person should know and should be able to do.
Then you can create your own "demand." No law says you have to work for somebody else. If you're imaginative enough to make your own major you are probably talented enough to create your own place in the economy.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
