What relationship does Dr Joseph Bell have with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle?

Dr. Joseph Bell was the teacher of Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle in the University of Edinburgh Medical School. He was remarkable for observation, logic, deduction and diagnosis.

Conan Doyle based his famous character Sherlock Holmes on the ingenious personality of Dr. Joseph Bell.
