What should I do about my car A/C not cooling? Please read details below:?

They no longer manufacturer R-22 equipment, so if you didn't decide to replace just the compressor but insread the whole unit than you would be looking at repalcing the indoor coil as well. But before you get to tied up in this. I can tell you that I have heard that BS a dozen times...Calls I've taken where the system worked perfectly fine and the last tech out on the other day said "compressor valves" Yet pressures, amp draws, check fine.

Even pumps down fine without leaking back through the valves. Honestly I don't think 7 out of 10 techs know how to diagnose bad valves - but rather can't understand why the system is operating the way it is so point the finger at the biggest component and than have you thinking about a new unit and they're weekend vacation with they're bonus they just got for talking you into buying a new unit. Seriously I think you are being scammed, get another opinion!

And don't tell the next tech that comes out beforehand that the compressor may have bad valves. On a side note you cannot replace a hermetic compressor with a scroll compressor.

A scroll compressor is the best kind to replace your heat pump. I don't think you need a whole new system. The valves on a reciprocal compressor, like you have, can go bad when refrigerant gets into it in liquid form instead of vapor, like what is supposed to happen.

The big issue is for the hvac company to tell you Why the valves went bad. I had to have my partner check it, I check it and the Service Manager check it and we all had to agree as to the cause. Otherwise, it will happen again, and the company will have to put in a new one at our expense.

That doesn't make the boss very happy or the customer. Then, the reason for the condemned compressor must be corrected before putting in a new one. They must explain to the customer what happened.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
