What should I do with my Mahalo Beach Towel now that I can't take it to the beach?

Recycle the towel into sexy shorts! Here is a YouTube video on how to do this! Then post a picture here on Mahalo.

I'm not too sure where you would put the word Mahalo, though. Might give people the wrong impression? Duenhsiyen.

Well one thing you could do with it is turn it into a summer tote. Then when you go to parks and other do other summer activities, you will have this nifty little Mahalo summer beach towel tote to carry all of your fun things in! This website will show you exactly how to do it, but it is a very easy craft to do!

Hope this helps ya come one step closer to finding the perfect thing to do with your Mahalo towel! marthastewart.com/good-things/beach-towe....

You could redo your bathroom in a Hawaiian theme. You could use your Mahalo cups as little pots for plants.

That towel is too beautiful to conceal as a tote or to be recycle. Wear it a with confidence and pride. It should be worn as a sarong.

First of all Mizz PhuPhu, I'm so very sorry about the mess that is the beach in Gulf Shores right now. We were there a couple of weeks ago and seeing it is just...well it's just horrible. I thought I'd be prepared because I've kept up with the news daily and even hourly, but I was NOT prepared.

I hate what's happening to our beautiful, pristine beaches (and to the LA marshes for that matter). Let's hope this gets plugged soon. Very very soon.

Now, on to a fun project topic: your towel! My first thought with this was "make throw pillows. " Then I thought well, you'd have to cut the sucker up and you might lose a lot of the design by doing that.

But wait! Why not make one of those nifty body pillows?! You can use your Mahalo towel and perhaps another longish white, yellow or blue towel to put this thing together.

Get some stuffing and voila - huggable, lovable Mahalo body pillow! I found some instructions for making the basic throw pillows - from what I can tell, the towel-length pillow will work the same way. Looks fun, actually.

I am no crafting expert but I think with a sewing machine and an hour or so you could really make a nice pillow. Let us know what you decide :).

I couldn't watch the entire vifeo--upsetting to say the least. Fly the towel as a GGulf Shores Beach white flag--you give up, you've been defeated--perhaps it'll hit news media and generate some traffic to the site.. My ex and I lived near DC but traveled to Lauderdale at least 2x a year for 2 weeks a pop--so every year for about 15 years, I spent 4 weeks in Florida (22 weeks short of homesteading! ) We were usually on The East Coast,in Broward County (where I expect a report of oil any day now), but we did take "vacations from our vacations" and go to The West Coast.

I can't imagine the sands of Sanibel gone. Our son was born in Bradenton when we were in Sarasota. Another beautiful beach.

Ditto for Naples, where residents must be besides themselves as property values plummet by the day. The photo is a still of the absolute pristine Sanibel I remember. Interestingly, I found it on a page of Florida beach cams, so I can look around.(see sources) I hear from a real-estate agent in Broward County that it's a worse exodus than there was after Wilma--investment rental properties are really taking a hit--no one's coming from Canada or The Middle East to vacation on oily beaches.

Northeast Florida is running commercials here in St. Louis, I think in an attempt to rescue the season.

You could turn it into a skimmer and get out there and start collecting all that oil! But I don't know if you wanna ruin your towel. Also I don't think your tiny towel will be doing much compared to the new skimmer.

Then again, you could make a raft out of plywood and those weird space bags that come in boxed wine and use your towel as a sail. Just don't over do it when your taking out the wine and inflating them, you might be tempted but it is far to much bum wine for anyone to drink! Probably a little more fun then swimming around with a towel collecting oil too.

Hmmmm, maybe I'll give that a shot myself. We have a river I can try it out on, there isn't any oil but it is certainly not clean.

I would do one of two things with it, I would find a wall and display it that way, or I would thyme my bathroom Hawiian and make it the courtain for the window. You can purchase as reall cool curtain holder and a cool rod to hang it on.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
