If you knees get sore take a couple of neoprene knee wraps, if you are in the hills and navigating a lot of trees, shrubs and the like a good pair of cotton gloves with rubber grips is a good idea. For nutrition having water and snack foods such as trail mix and chocolate, energy bars is a good thing to have with you. Dried fruits are a good hiking food as they are a good source of natural sugars.
Pack some frozen meat if you are going to stop and build a fire and cook, also some coffee is great brewed over a fire. A good balanced back pack is essential as well to carry your supplies and not cause fatigue. King is an amazing time to spend either by yourself or with other people.
