Ignore the old school "up to your chin" measure, it's not accurate at all. With a size 13.5 foot you'll definately want to get a "wide" board like you said. If you want a do-it-all board, look for a board in the lower 160s.
150s will be too small in the pow and higher 160s need to be ridden hard and at high speeds. Unless you're dropping 20' plus cliffs and taking almost-pro lines, you shouldn't need anything larger than 165. As for choosing within the 160s, remember, shorter boards are generally easier to spin and have quiker response, longer boards are generally more stable at high speeds, float better on powder, and plow through the rough stuff a little better too so choose accordingly.
I ride a T. Rice 164.5 W when I'm riding park and icy snow, but a Burton Custom X 168 W for most everything else. If I was more into park, even at 6'4" and 190 lbs, I'd probably get a park only board around 160 mabye even a tid bit shorter.
If I had more money, I'd buy a powder board only (which I still might) in the 170s.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
