What skincare products are safe during pregnancy?

I googled this and my searches have been futile. I'm looking for SPECIFIC details of skincare products that are safe during pregnancy. I read certain chemicals are not safe during pregnancy but I cannot possibly write all of them down and travel to the store to read every label and check off all the unsafe chemicals.

I'm looking for stuff like *CLEANSER *MOISTURIZER *ACNE TREATMENT *LOTION etc. Asked by B 36 months ago Similar questions: skincare products safe pregnancy Lifestyle > Beauty.

I try not to look at this site! I try not to look at this site because I'm not pregnant and I don't have kids and its just my body and sometimes I'd rather not know, but cosmeticsdatabase.com has safety ratings for many products in basicialy every catagory of personal care items including all kinds of makeup that you have listed here! Not only are scores provided, based on the chemicals in the produts and what they have or have not been linked to, but they tell you if they have the research in order to give this product a good score or not (data gap).

This product for instance, http://cosmeticsdatabase.com/product. Php? Prod_id=91940&refurl=%2Fbrowse.

Php%3Fcategory%3Dlipgloss%26, has 100% "no data/high uncertainty" and "no FDA review" so the score doesn't really reflect the safety of the product. However, you can see that the product has a list of things that the chemicals in its makeup could be linked to including cancer and birth defects. None of the boxes are checked, due to lack of information, so obviously not the safest product to use since we don't know anything about it!

The site may take a little getting used to, but it can be a great tool for finding things that are safe to have around you and your loved ones, especially when they are young or allergy-prone! http://cosmeticsdatabase.com/browse. Php?

Maincat=skincare is the location of the list for all catagories of skin care! One of the best things about this website is that it evaluates sunscreens to find safe and effective sunscreens, especially for kids! Sunscreen is an essential for babies and tots, this website should help you find the best product possible. So far, Blue Lizard and California Baby seem to be the best choices due to reccomendations on this website and several others I've looked at.

One of the tips from this website in the section about using products in a more healthy way (http://cosmeticsdatabase.com/tips. Php) is: Cut down on your use of powders; avoid the use of baby powder on newborns and infants. A number of ingredients common in powder have been linked to cancer and other lung problems when they are inhaled.

FDA warns that powders may cause lung damage if inhaled regularly. Good to know! Good luck and have fun with that baby on the way!

I feel your pain, there is a lot of contradictory information on the web about this topic. I finally found a source that I trust, and it says skincare products with Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Glycolic Acid and/or Vitamin C are considered safe to use during pregnancy. 2 I never knew this was important. I never did anything different when I was pregnant, and my kids came out normal - or at least they think so.

3 I'll post this in an answer because I want credit for it, but cosmeticsdatabase.com/index.php?nothanks=1 has safety ratings as far as chemicals. This user has been banned from Askville.

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
