What spider has a large white body with brown stripes about the size of a large grape?
Hard to tell without a picture, but this sounds like a huntsman spider. Common in Australia but can be found in the southern parts of the U.S. They are lightning fast and freakishly enormous but pretty much harmless to people for the picture.. google it.. you'll get what you want.
