I love Thailand, and have had the good fortune to travel there twice.
I'd have several bits of advice for anyone traveling there.
Pack clothing expecting a lot of heat, and a lot of rain (depending on the time of year).
Especially for women, be aware of the dress code when entering Buddhist temples.
Definitely try a tuktuk ride in city traffic, it's an adventure!
Definitely don't try too many tuktuk rides in city traffic, it'll shorten your lifespan!
Definitely try some of the street vendor food, it can be quite delicious!
Definitely don't try all the street vendor foods, it can shorten your lifespan!
Especially in Bangkok, a lot of friendly-seeming individuals will try to direct you towards, or away from certain attractions. They will say, "Oh that Buddha temple is closed right now, you should go to this one instead. " Do not listen to these people, they're paid to try to funnel tourists to specific locations, and giftshops.
Most tourists go to Bangkok, or head straight south to places like Phuket for the beaches. Both are wonderful, lovely places to vacation, but if you're a bit more adventurous, the northern parts of the country are amazing, especially around the Golden Triangle.
Don't just stick to the usual food. Try the local food. You may find it unbearably different/spicy at first, but I do believe that no one in the world can resist a good tom yam!Yummy....
Check out these hubs for tips on what to do too.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
