What vital signs are checked after heart surgery?

After heart surgery, nursing assistants will check your four vital signs: body temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen level. Body temperature is taken with a traditional thermometer placed under the tongue, blood pressure and heart rate with a blood pressure cuff, and oxygen level with a small matchbox-like device placed over the tip of the forefinger.
