What was it like growing up in Kent in the 1960s?

Growing up in Kent in the 60's was an experience, one that will never be repeated in my lifetime! A population lived like a Family, a life behind Unlocked doors. All trusted one another within boundaries.

A concept that could, but sadly will not be followed in today's era. The joy of walking out of your door & being greeted by neighbours, that made you feel you had just woken up with in the same house was electric. The deep care & concern for every aspect of each others life, was a part of living in those years!

All though life was was moving forward, the governments of the time failed to grasp the ideas of local population & their concepts of policing their community. In fact they totally lost it, & spent taxpayers money crucifying the best policy of all........ A Man/Womans home is their Castle! Kent today, has in my thinking, moved with the times, it has evolved as years have gone by.

But it has been dragged under & drowned by forward Governments & the EU, & now has no personality. There is no Rural life or community, farms are factories, villages are miniture towns full of Townies & very few Straw Munchers as I was born & brought up to be! But as always this is only my opinion.....based on the fact that I was born & brought up in the Garden of England.

Regards Midsrailer :O).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
