What was the climate of the Middle Colonies?

The climate in the middle colonies was milder than the New England colonies, although it was colder than the southern colonies. It was perfect for farming also. It was named the "Bread basket" because of the plants it grew.

The middle colonies are the states which included Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware, where America's pride in their rich diversity was most evident. Their land was fertile and they represent a middle ground between its neighbours to the South and North. These colonies had the most diverse collection of cultures, with English, Swedish, Dutch, German, Scot-Irish and French people all living in harmony in these states.
