What was the religious and social impact of Darwin's theory?

First of all, Darwin wrote a book that presented animals as evolving to fit their environment.

This, for some reason did not sit well with religionists who believed that the world was created in 6 days and was perfect from the get-go.

Then as more and more scientists tested Darwin's observations, it became clear that animals did indeed evolve and that the world was much much older than had previously been thought.

This again upset the religionists because they flatly refused to believe anything that proved the bible had errors in it.

However, the Theory of Evolution has been tested by thousands of scientists with the same conclusions. All life adapts to its conditions and produces evolutionary changes in its genetic code to cope with changes in the world over time.

These revelations divided the religious and social groups who have been arguing back and forth for the past 300 or so years. Perhaps even longer.

It made people realise that god is most likely a myth. I won't say that it caused people to not believe in god but I think that religion lost some of it's control over people which is great. Sooner or later religion will be looked at as a silly thing humans went through and then we can live life properly and be responsible for ourselves.

Darwin helped speed up the process .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
