I like to be an informed customer, so before purchasing new products I like to do comparison shopping and read reviews written by actual users. I usually turn to Amazon (even if I don't buy from there) because popular products usually have pretty detailed reviews by a lot of product owners, so you can get a fair assessment of the pros and cons of a particular item. But what product-review websites do you trust?
I'm aware of the following:YelpepinionAngie's ListJudy's BookI'm most interested in websites that have product reviews (sites where people can review *services* are of less interest). Please only point to websites that are free and that offer at-a-glance star ratings (or something similar...i.e. , 8.5 out of 10 points, 4 out of 5 stars, etc. ).
Sites that are primarily message boards (such as Howard Forums) and sites that only review one type of products (such as Makeupalley.Com, which only reviews beauty products) are of less interest. Consumersearch I like this site. They sort of review all the other sites and info and present it in a nice easy format. It is great for product reviews of all sorts of items from garden, to kitchen to office.
They rate the reviews they read from sites and magazines, and also rate the products. Sources: consumersearch.com/ shaelyn's Recommendations Consumer Reports, September 2007 Issue Amazon List Price: $4.99 Used from: $2.04 Subscriptions come with website access.
Wize.com Wize.com has opinions and reviews for a wide range of products. It even has the reviews separated by user reviews and expert reviews. It also compiles sources, so it takes opinions from epinions, CNET (CNET.com -- a good place for electronic reviews), amazon, and other places.
I like Wize because I don't have to go to 10 sites, it's all compiled for me from the places I usually check. Good Luck. Sources: wize.com/ .
