What will happen on December 21st, 2012?

I am not sure if the Mayan culture ever suggested an end of the world, based on long counts etc. On the other hand, it does look like mankind is rushing quickly toward changing conditions.

Let me see, the sun will rise in the east and set in the west. Many people will die. Many people will be born.

Oh, and a lot of people who have been using the Mayan calender will have to get a new one. Possibly something with kittens this year.

For me, I'll probably start thinking about my Christmas list. The end of the world? Seriously?

Everything will be just fine. The ancients couldn't keep up an infinite calendar - could you? Has to have some general end date.

I should be going on a cruise by December 21st, 2012...

It's not meant to be the end of the world, but the end of a cycle that has been defined by spiritual and physical conflict in the world. It will be a great change for all of us.

I read a few months back something about the dates being wrong. 'Aint nothing going to happen. It'll be just like Y2K.

Many people will try to catch up on their Christmas shopping (except for men; we wait for the 23rd - 24th to do ours), some babies will be born, some elderly folks will die, and a couple kids in North Dakota will have a massive snowball fight.

I think it will be life as normal. Not much happened at 12:34 and 56 seconds on July 8, 2009, so I think 12/21/2012 will be uneventful too.

The Mayan's were very spiritual, intelligent people. From my understanding, however, only God knows when the "end" will happen. No angel in heaven, no human on earth and no demon in hell knows... Only God does.

The Mayan's, however, may have misinterpreted something. This may possibly be the beginning of the end, but surely it is not the end. Things will never suddenly stop, they must get progressively worse and as bad as things are in this world, things will be a lot worse this time next year, and the year after, and the year after.In order to understand good and evil, heaven and hell, God and Satan... You have to sit at a stand point in between.

We are in the middle of a war, we have been since the beginning of existence. For evil cannot exist without good and good can not exist without evil.

The Mayan calender will actually just restart. The calendar works like 3 interlocking gears turning. The Mayan short calendar restarts every 52 years.

The calendar that is "ending" is the long count calendar. On Dec 21st I think it will be much like Y2K, a bunch of people will freak out.....and then nothing will happen.

Wait 24 hours and it will be December 22nd. I hope your day is great. Things change in the universe all the time.

Some changes are big some are small. I just hope that people to not go looking for something undesirable to happen on December 21st 2012, they may be the ones to make it a self fulfilling prophecy. Best wishes.

Hopefully I will wake up. After that I will smoke a lil something something then start drinking some hennessey while looking forward to the huge BBQ I will be hosting. Do you want to come?

Noooobody knows the trouble I've seen....;)Just kidding. I believe the world will continue spinning on its axis, but that is not for me to decide. Only God knows the time when our magnificent Saviour will come back for us!

It will be just another day. It's always facinated me that there are people who (need the world to come to an end during their lifetime) in order to make sense of their beliefs. According to the bible Jesus has been gone for over 2000 years.

I imagine during those early centuries there must have been lots of frustrated people waiting, looking for signs, hoping and praying for his return during their time on earth. Having real "faith" means never having to ask "when" or "how". For all we know this planet might keep rocking another billion years!

Would that be so bad?

No one knows and no one can tell what will happen on that day. All speculations are just predictions.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
