What would you do if you saw an innocent bystander getting beaten up by 3 thugs in a public place?

What you must do by law and for being a civilized human. Just ignoring what's happening can (but seldom does) get you in trouble with the law. A simple call to an emergency center is all it takes.

Being a former law enforcement officer , I will always act and have. All it takes is to think how would you feel if the person in need were your mother, father, wife, husband son or daughter?

Been there, done that. I act before I think and always intervene. They usually run away.My temper gets the best of me and I guess they can see it.

Hopefully I'll be smarter about it as I get older - but I will always help the underdog/loner.

I would quickly evaluate the situation and determine if my intervention would help or aggravate the situation. I would call the police/security and see if others would assist before intervening on my own.

When people get started, the adrenaline gets flowing and they will likely turn on anyone intervening. I am not a phyically strong person anymore so my intervention wouldn't do much good---but I would definitely call 911, and retreat to a safe distance. My husband would not doubt end up in the middle of it on the side of one being beaten.

This is common is Albuquerque. All I will say is that every concealed-carry permit holder knows that deadly force is authorized to protect yourself or someone else from death or serious bodily injury. Unfortunately, most people are sheep and will wait until someone else reacts.

I would immediately dial 911. If it were only 1 thug, I might try to intervene...but I would still call 911 first.

It would depend on what I saw. What makes the one person innocent, just because they are being beaten up?. I would jump in to help in most cases because a good fight can be a blast and I hate seeing people bullied.

If I found out after it was over that the "innocent" person provoked the beating I would give him a solid shot in the head for being a punk.

Certainly I will try to help him. Firstly I will ask them to stop. And side by side I will try to involve peoples in my effort to save the innocent person.

I will also try to inform Police or any security people.

If possible intervene but if not call the police.

Try to help the best way possible. Call police first though.

If there were no weapons involved....id help fight off the thugs. If there were weapons id call the police then see if I can get more people involved. If all else fails jump in and hope for the best.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't intervene. I would want to help, but I wouldn't want to become the one they beat up instead. I would call the police, but not become directly involved.

NO, you do not know what you would have done, and you never will.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
