What's best way to seal/plug a basement floor drain?

Yes we should but people do not want to do this. Water will come up through the floors in via air vents and up the drains. It can literally fountain out of baths sinks and toilets.

Sealing a house against floods is not easy and power is needed to keep the pumps running. If power to the area is lost the pumps stop and the water slowly seeps in. My parents house gets water into their cellar in some conditions.

They have drains into a dump and pumps to get it out. They keep a generator to prevent a power loss flooding them.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
