What's different about teaching leadership in bschool in the wake of Enron and other recent corporate scandals?

Mr. Blanchard: Leadership hasn't been taught much in business schools. Since Enron and other scandals, they've added courses on ethics and things like that. What we are seeing now is the importance of leadership at the top and all throughout organizations.

CJ: What do you think is the best approach to teaching leadership in bschool? Very seldom do business schools get personal with their people and really take a hard look at who they are.

You can't lead somebody else if you don't have your own act together. The transformational journey for leadership starts with finding out about yourself. The next stop is one-on-one leadership.

When you look at yourself, you gain perspective, and when you learn to lead another person, you learn about building trust. The third stop is team leadership. Leading a team is more complicated than leading an individual.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
