What's in citrus that makes them have antibacterial properties?

I think it is because they are so acidic, and many bacteria cannot survive in such an acidic environment. Could be wrong tho? - nursing student.

I agree with Mariya...oranges have a low pH because of the citric acid in them, which inhibits most microorganisms.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
