What's the best advice a parent or coach has given you before a sporting event?

At school during cross country, my PE teacher told me to "sit this one out", probably because I was rubbish at running and always had the worst times. I suppose it made the class look bad with my time on his chart!

Don't do this for me' was probably the best advice I've ever received from a coach. By saying this it effectively removed most of the pressure I put on my shoulders and the coach became just another face in the crowd. He no longer was the one I was accountable to, I was only accountable to myself.

Simple, but quite effective.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
