Green Lake loop, Green River trail, or Bainbridge Island. The Burke-Gilman trail is by far the best on-road bike trail that you will find in Seattle. However, there are three other options that I would recommend if you want some variety.
Green Lake loop and Green River trail First of all, the other two in Seattle that I like are riding around Greenlake, which is a nice flat 2.8 miles loop around the lake. It doesn’t compare to the 40+ miles you can go on the Burke-Gilman, but it is a nice little urban road ride. Another possibility is the Green River trail which starts just south of the city via the Elliot Bay and Duwamish trails and heads down to Auburn.
This is again a fairly flat trail that meanders along a river and if you start from the city is about 30 miles one way. Bainbridge Island Bike Ride The other option that is not directly in the city, but worthy of a ride is the Bainbridge Island bike loop. Take the ferry over with your bike and start the ride from the ferry terminal.
This island loop passes through protected harbors, parks with tall firs and cedars, and an old cemetery near Port Madison--be sure to stop and check out the old tombstones here. Begin the 36-mile route in Winslow at Eagle Harbor and move toward Country Club Road, enjoying the view of Seattle across Puget Sound. From Fort Ward State Park, take in panoramic views of Rich Passage and Kitsap Peninsula.
This is also the location of the well know Chilly This is one of my favorite rides to escape the city for the day.
