Given the fact that government activism to help the poor invariably damages those whom it purports to help, I would call it temptation. Tellingly, Jesus never commanded anybody "Go, pressure your government to give to the poor." He commanded individuals to help the poor themselves, with their own hands.
Voting to "help the poor" is a scam created by political partisans to use the vanity and laziness of the voting public to secure their own power. It has nothing to do with genuinely helping the poor.
If you re speaking of government in the US or any other secular country, there is a separation between church and state, Christianity and government, so no call is recognized, it is just good government. People cannot be productive if they are not feed, sheltered or healed, if the people are not productive he society cannot function. Society cannot function, EVERYBODY will not be feed, sheltered or healed.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
