In the UK there is a powder called Jeweller's Rouge which, when made in to a paste with water, can be rubbed into the scratch. It takes time and effort but works a treat. I'm not sure if it is available in the US, though.

I've heard buffing it with toothpaste works, as long as you can't feel the scratch with your fingernail. Would be a cheap fix if it works.
Try to use toothpaste. That's what I heard that is.
Try Cerium oxide, it will work for shallow scratches.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
