Speaking to your 1st question - The greatest thing about being in the time we are is the overwhelming power of the internet. IT is truly revolutionary and it is here to help you. Sure, you can spend big bucks on the likes of magazines and newspapers.
You can put together a small commercial and look to broadcast your product, and I would advise that you do that… when you have the capital to do so. But, until them, I would recommend that you look to the internet and its abilities. There are many cost effective ways to advertise without breaking the bank.
The social networking sites like Facebook, and the dwindling MySpace are great ideas as to how to get the word out about your company. Post it directly from your page, or better yet, start a separate page for your product. Get followers and friends, offer discounts, deals, and information as to what you’re doing.
From there, link a Twitter account and update it regularly. Keep the world posted, or whoever is following you posted, as to the up to the minute happenings with your product. I would budget what you can to get the word out, but don’t look past the power of the World Wide Web.
Heck, Justine Bieber got his start on You Tube. Anything is possible. IN regards to your 2nd question - It is impossible to determine the number of marketing specific jobs in NYC.
I can guaranteee that there are plenty and that the compeptition ahs to be fierce for evey single one of them. Within the marketing/advertisng world there are a number of ways to point your carreer - Account Managament, PR, Copywriter, Art Director, etc. Unfortunately, a degree in Advertising doesn't speak much to a specifc, so if you see something you would like to persue, I would advise that you tailor your resume around that interest focuising on your accomplishments within that field.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
