Similar questions: important aspect choosing coffeehouse visit.
Atmosphere and proximity When I visit a coffeehouse (and, no, I don't consider Starbucks one) I look for atmosphere primarily. The rest like good coffee and pastries seems to fall into place. Also, I look at proximity now since gas prices are so high.

The Coffee! I am a little different than most folks. I will go out of my way to visit a coffee shop that cares about coffee. In general, I avoid the brand names because most of them have put profit above coffee quality.
I look for privately owned shops who roast on premise or have their own roastery. As an alternative I will look for a shop that uses coffee from a reputable specialty roaster who I know (such as Intelligentsia Coffee in Chicago). So, for me, the criteria that I use are... 1.
Coffee - Do they roast their own or partner with a specialty roaster? Is the coffee fresh? Once roasted, coffee begins to lose aroma and flavor in as little as two weeks.
I won’t visit a coffee shop who uses coffee older than two weeks. 2. The Espresso Machine - If I see a superautomatic espresso machine (the ones with the built in grinder where the "barista" simply pushes a button and the machine does everything), I walk out.
Period. That shop has opted for profits instead of a good product.3. Cleanliness - Look at the espresso machine.
Is it clean? Is there gunk built up on the steam wand? If I see any of those I walk out.
4. Training - I watch the barista for a few minutes before I order. If he or she is trained properly the espresso shot will pour in approximately 25 seconds and he/she will not reuse previously steamed milk.
He/she should be able to produce steamed milk with microfoam (a smooth, shiny consistency to the milk) instead of large soap bubbles in the milk and as a bonus be able to pour latte art. After all of those have been satisfied then I worry about things like pastries, decor, etc.Having a selection of pastries or even sandwiches for lunch is a bonus, but that’s not the reason I am there. Comfortable chairs and wireless internet access are a must since I am usually visiting a coffee shop during the day and want to catch up on e-mail.
There are a lot of shops that meet my tight criteria in every city. You just have to look for them. Drive by the big chains and find a local business and help them out.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
