When clicking icons on desktop, the hourglass continues to run and taskbar doesn't respond?

When clicking icons on desktop, the hourglass continues to run and taskbar doesn't respond. Have a Acer One 10.1 and tried restoring to different dates but that didn't resolve issue. I have no backup and can't get to the eRecovery to create backup.

The Acer system is only three months old but the company won't allow me to return until I've tired several things and the last thing is running the eRecovery program. I said I can't do that since the icons aren't responding. I was asked if I could press F2 and if so did it allow me to get to the bios screen.

I said I could. The issue was than classified as "Advance Troubleshooting" therefore requiring phone support which they charge for and I cannot afford that. Initially I was told to buy an external optical device to backup CD before running eRecovery which I did than found out I couldn't do since the icons aren't responding.

I just can't afford to pay what they are charging. This was my daughters 18th birthday/graduation gift given to her early and system died before those days even occurred. Can someone please help?

You can try below steps: 1. Try to use anti-virus software to check if there is any virus in your system. Clean them before you continue.

2. Use the windows recovery system to recover some system files if demaged. 3.

Try to enter into safe model of windows to test if you can click on the icon or not. Try to clear the unused start up programs . 4.

Use some registry cleaner software to clear your registry if necessary. 5. Restart system and test it.

3 Try booting in safe mode after you've done the F2 thing. If it comes up good then download CCleaner and go to tools, select AOL and disable it. I would uninstall it myself.

Anyway, now that I think of it, just give it to your daughter like it is. Surely she knows someone who knows someone who can fix it for her. There are more than a few computer geeks that age.

One other thing, do you have a desktop (with internet access so that you can get help on the net)? This is so you can go to a forum and post a question that others will answer that is specific to your machine. For this type in to google "acer one 10.1 forums" and there are a few near the top.

4 Sorry, forgot to say that safe mode is started by pressing the F8 key when the screen starts running all that gibberish for vista and xp. If there is no giber then just wait about four seconds and press it, but don't keep holding it down for a long time.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
