When does a OTCM rash become an ER rash?

Look carefully at the rash. If it's spreading, especially quickly, you might not want to mess with OTC meds at all. If you know its source, and can specify certain attributes (is it oozing?

Is it mild and just a bit itchy? ) then go check out some OTC meds and look for the description of what the medication will treat. It might just be topical and easily treated to relieve the itch with something like Tea Tree Oil (this is what I use for itch and mild rash relief) until the rash goes away.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
