I think as a whole- you are perpetuating this idea, as if most are accepting. Most white people, do not see half black children (esp the ones who look black) as white children. They see them as black-just as most of the world does, because they look black.
To be honest, I only hear bi-racial on y/a. I don't hear it on the news, I don't hear it on Showbiz tonight- I don't hear it when referring to the Pres. Of the U.S. - black mixed people are called black on a large scale.
And that is the reality. Not this y/a fantasy that they are viewed as 'both worlds'. But, you can see yourself that way- it's understandable, because you are.
I was trying to find you a Youtube video on an episode that was shown on The Locator. I don't know if you've seen it, but he connects people to their relatives that gave them away- Well, one episode, a bi-racial girl and boy were searching for their mother (white) who left them with their black side of the family. She was around 11 years old, and could remember ... more.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
