Un42, I will answer these questions for you. Probably, the best time to vacation in New Mexico would be the winter months, being that the temperatures would be more moderate. New Mexico can be very hot and humid just about the rest of the year round, day and night included.

For the above reason alone, I would not consider New Mexico a great vacation spot for the summer, but then you might not mind the heat. As far as tourist attractions, New Mexico has plenty of them, and if you want to spend your vacation exploring them, then that would not be a waste of your time at all.
