This is one of those "you lead the way" issues. If it disturbs you so much, then really, does it not impose some sort of obligation on you? I agree that human overpopulation is an issue, but the solution involves the cooperation of all, and that is one hard thing to come by.
People reproduce or not for a number of reasons, and none of them really have to do with concerns for the planet except within a fairly tiny minority. Mostly, the decision is selfish or from ignorance (they reproduce without intending to, which in a society where reproduction is preventable, is simply ignorant). Really, you either have to have a global population that is informed of the risks and willing to act on that knowledge, or you have to impose YOUR thinking on others, and I don't think you have either the right or the obligation to do that imposing.
That leaves acting on your own, the one thing you do have control over. Don't reproduce, and even volunteer to reduce the surplus population. What do you suggest, if you don't like those options?
I don't like them, but it is what it is.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
