It is not the gun owners I hear whimpering with fear to get rid of the guns, it is the sniveling cowards that are so paranoid and terrified of firearm they want them all banned. Only a complete idiot can't see this.
So I'll make two points about this. 1. Before the Nov 2012 election, I received several calls from NRA fundraisers.
They were telling me Obama wanted to ban our guns. I argued with them that Obama had never messed with our gun rights and the NRA was just using scare tactics. Then just 3 short months after Obama was re-elected, he was pushing to ban Assault Weapons.
The NRA was right. I was wrong. 2.
The problem with mandatory background checks is what happens to that data? It goes into a government database. How is that not a gun registry that can be used later for gun confiscation, like NYC is doing right now.
NYC is using their gun registry to send out letters to gun owners to turn in their guns! See the link. And before you dismiss the source as a right-wing source, please note they are showing the actual letters issued by the city demanding the guns be turned in, complete with the models they have listed in their registry.
Bottom line, background checks = gun registration = gun confiscation at a later date.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
