When visiting a busy city, like MIlan, what type of info do you require most from a travel guide?

This would be same for all cities, everywhere. You need to know which areas of the city to avoid. Those areas where the poor and the desperate live: people who would see you as an opportunity to make some easy money - and who wouldn't care too much about how they took it from you.

Peterxdunn Your answer made me think: not just the poor and desperate see you as an opportunity to make money, but also quite a few of the restaurant etc owners in the most touristy areas. To avoid as well, so a guide should also advise you which are the honest localities! Good one!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
