When you do a Hubpage boo-boo, do your emotions drop along with your ratings?

Bahhh, forget the scores. I couldn't give a damn about the scores, I am here for the mullah. I mean, just think about it, its a mathematical formula or two.

No piece of math is going to judge me! I judge myself! And the only person who I need to prove anything to, is myself.

If I understand you correctly: 1) It's always disappointing when scores drop, I mean, we do strive to keep them up. 2) I suppose the only thing you can do there is be good in future, then maybe things might 'right' themselves.

I agree with the other answers. But I do, still, find my sense of happiness drop with the ratings. I seem to be fluctuating in a 3 to 5 point range.

Sometimes I think it is because I get busy with work and don't participate as much as usual or publish as often as usual. I try to behave myself with questions and answers, though.

I agree with ryankett, whose response I voted up. At the end of the day, you just can't allow yourself to be judged by the "free market. " I know that's not exactly what you asked but all things wind up at the money.

What I mean is, it is well known that the higher your hub score, the higher your individual hubs are scored (indirectly at least, if we can make the logical assumption that the precise inverse of what you said, Debby Bruck, is true -- you know how profile score based on activity and such are tied one way or another); and the higher your articles will be rated on search engines, and so on and so forth. But as ryankett said, "its a mathematical formula or two. " But math doesn't come out of the sky, the math is applied by human beings with individual preferences, tastes, styles, and the like.

You can "set" the mathematical formula to a "setting" and then whatever comes closest to that "objective" standard is supposed to be the best quality? That's why is just best to forget the scores and do your best writing.

I think if you've been writing long enough, you learn over time that not everyone is going to agree with you, your thoughts may go un-heard, and your effort may seem futile, yet you keep on writing. For you, not some score. Besides, there are so many talented writers on hubpages, that score is rather irrelevant.

Absolutely not. Hubpages is practice and a unique way to socialize. Nothing more.

If I get voted up, no problems. If I tank, well I have myself to blame, but understand that I'm not getting paid for what I write (seriously, how many of you actually click the links on soneone else's huns? ) so I'm not losing anything and actaull gain.

Sure I do. If I do good, then I did something right and can carry on in that vein or keep that energy up and go in another direction. If I write a huge piece of steaming poo, well, I know what to do different next time.

I imagine it's all relative comparing to others, but hey, I'm a few screws shy of a full assembly anyway. Take it for what it's worth.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
