My personal favorite : The Whaley House located on San Diego Avenue and Harney Street in Old Town San Diego. You can visit (if you dare) from 10 AM to 5:30 PM. It is creepy!
Some inhabitants there (deceased but still hanging around) are Mr. & Mrs. Whaley, one of the Whaley children who died from scarlet fever, and Yankee Jim. Yankee Jim was hung on the property before it became the Whaley residence. Check out Hauntedhouses.Com/California.

The best in Utah by far is the Haunted Forest in American Fork. People who live in Utah need to go to this haunted house! There are a lot of haunts in Utah but with them being in business for over 20 years, there has to be some reason that they have lasted that long, and that reason is they know how to scare!
Check their website at hauntedutah.com/forest.html and you will be amazed at how great of a haunt this is!
Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights are considered extremely frightening and among the best in the country.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
