You need a graphic card capable of support dual monitors Some older systems with add-in graphics cards will let you plug one monitor into the onboard VGA output and then add another monitor to the add-in card but most new systems require a dual monitor supporting video card. Most new cards support this but you can find dual vga cards for $30 or you can buy a nice new dual dvi card for $150-250 .
Easy... sort of You need a second video card. On a regular-size PC there's usually a free PCI or AGP slot on the motherboard that can accept a video card. Not so usually on a compact case PC or laptop..

1 Getting a new graphics card isn't the only option. There are also pretty convenient adapters that attach to a USB port to for duplicating or extending monitors. An example includes a product from StarTech.com (A company I am currently interning for) located here:startech.com/item/USB2VGAE2It's on the lower end (more compact) of a group of 3 products that do the same thing.
This particular product can be used to add up to 4 additional monitors (5 total) with additional units. Also note that the distributors prices on that site are often lower than the price listed on that page. Help that helps.
