If there was, you'd already know about it Getting people to your web site is a big, big deal. Huge. Tens of millions of dollars are spent on it.
Maybe hundreds of millions. It's also kind of a shady business. There's no web site or forum for new web sites. At least, if there was, you're not reading it, so why do you think anybody else is?
Step 1 is getting yourself into the search engines. Go to this page for Google, and then go to the other search engines and look around for the same thing. Or use sites like this one to do it all at once.
That means that when people come looking for your site, they might find it. Except that you're not very important, so they won't find it unless you offer something very distinctive. So then you proceed to steps 2 through 10,000,000. Some of these are: Buy advertising.
Google AdWords is a particularly clever version of this; the other major search engines offer a variant. You pay them so that when certain search terms come up, your ad shows up, too. Or they give your ad to other web sites that match your search terms, and then your ad appears whenever people visit those sites.
The nice thing is that it only appears on web sites that match your words, so you're hopefully hitting your target. The price is kind of an auction, so it varies a lot. (The word "mesothelioma", which is bought by ambulance-chasing lawyers looking for people for class-action lawsuits, is particularly expensive).
Buy more advertising. You can go directly to the web sites; some of them sell their own advertising. You can get pop up ads, Flash animation, or whatever sort of evil crud suits your style.
Buy still more advertising. Newspapers, radio, TV, magazines. Anything that you think that people interested in your web site might read.
The sides of buses, if it's a local thing.Astroturf. Submit your web site as "news" to news web sites. Press releases.
Or just write it up as an article and fax it to everybody you can think of Word of mouth. Get your friends to tell their frends. Make up a silly video about your web site, put it on YouTube, and wait for people to watch it.
Of course getting people to watch the video in the first place is a problem. Get creative. And best of luck..
