Where is a good place to stay when visiting galleries in Chicago's River North District?

1 awarulz, regarding your answer "The north side in general is expensive - I used to work up there. ":Thank you for the reply! .

2 If you don't have to stay in the city and are willing to get on the train, you can take either the Metra or the red line up to Evanston and stay here. It might be worth checking into. I know Evanston isn't cheap, but neither is the city.

If you used to work on the north side, you probably know all this anyway.

I'm a figure painter looking for representation. The north side in general is expensive - I used to work up there. The holiday Inn down at the Mechandise Mart is there and it's nice, but last time I was there, it was expensive for a Holiday Inn.

Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza 350 West Mart Center Drive, Chicago, IL(312) 836-5000 The Best Western is pretty close - it nice enough. Best Western River North 125 W Ohio St # 1, Chicago, IL(312) 467-0800I'd stay at one of those two placesThe Holiday inn - Rates about 250The Best Western - about 180wow..Now, my suggestion would be to stay out at the airportThere will be several under 100 a night places near there like Howard Johnson Inn and Suites Elk Grove Village O'Hare Super 8 Chicago OHare Airport Days Inn Elk Grove Village/Chicago/OHare Airport West Red Roof Inn Chicago Arlington Heights (hey, I have stayed there!)Find one that has a shuttle to the airport and then go back and forth to the airport and run back and forth downtown on the train - save yourself a lot of money and see a bit more of Chicago.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
