Which gaming system: Xbox 360 or PS3?

Alright, to stat off, both consoles will work with an SD TV. They will both look better on an HDTV, but if your TV is old, it should still work. PS3, definitely. I've been with PlayStation from the beginning and they have been absolutely awesome. They were a great alternative to Nintendo back in the day because Nintendo seemed to have mostly kid games.

Now, with the Xbox on the scene, I still choose PlayStation. One cool feature I love is that all their games are able to be played on the PS3, all the way back to the original PlayStation, so there are literally thousands of games available for PS3. Xbox, while doing better than I expected with regards to game selection, is the new kid on the block.

Okay, full disclosure -- I run a xbox forum. With that said... Xbox 360 -- everyone I know has one and they were all on live. Its a great system, and microsoft has been integrating 3rd parties lately like crazy.

Netflix, Last. Fm, etc. Biggest problem, and its a large one, is the RRoD. Bascially - the Xbox 360 has a design flaw that causes the entire system to die.

MS has extended warranty to cover this for 3 years after purchase to solve this, but its very, very frustrating. Its pretty much a given that your xbox will die and you will have to wait for it to be replaced. Ps3 - is a blu-ray player, can run linux, and has the entire library of ps2 games.

Their online network is free, and they have integration with the PSP. Sony's biggest problem is that the system is supposed to be extremely hard to develop for and the sales of the units haven't justified keep big exclusives on Sony. Activision/Blizzard recently made noise about stopping development for the system.

Most likely is was just to create publicity -- but its scary. But..."which system is better" is pretty much what created the term "fanboy". Gamers are notorious for fighting holy wars over their system of choice and not being objective about the other systems.

With all things being equal -- my criteria for getting a new system would be what do I plan to do with it: play games, play games online, watch movies, and then decide which was the better system for me.

Alright I think the Xbox 360 is better then the PS3. Here are my reasons why I think. The Xbox is great for people like you wanting a gaming system for E games you have the best arcade for the Xbox 360.

The PS3 is a very expensive Blu Ray player. Most of there exclusives get old after a month or two and also there arcade is not the greatest also. Most people use DVDs and not waste there money on Blu Ray which is unnecessary.

The Xbox will work with with your TV because I have the same kind of setup also. I really don't no what genre your into with games but there are a ton of games out there that are Teen and E for Everyone. I hate how people say the Xbox fails because most of the time it fails because of the owner.

If you don't play for 30 hours at one time and also keep it in a non crowed environment with nothing much around it. Make sure you keep it . Laying down and not standing up.

If you are into X-Box LIVE or online play that is something the Xbox dose extremely well on which the PS3 dose not. The online is an amazing experience with a friends list that shows what your friends are playing, video and voice chat and also a new feature that lets you be in a specific party with you and your friends only and can talk to each other no matter what game you are playing and also it dose not matter where you are example the Xbox dashboard or in a game or watching a video etc.. Overall I guarantee you will have a better time with a Xbox 360 because of all its features and its also cheaper.

I'll be the first to say Xbox. Silverhammer is right, exclusives make the system and from my experience, they are more and higher quality ones for Xbox. I'm not even sure Playstation has any good ones left since they have been slowly losing license exclusivity.

The biggest deciding factor between these two I believe is online gaming, however. Xbox has this one down, no question, even if you're a Playstation fan. Xbox Live is superior to PS3's online system plus it has the marketplace.

Playstation may have more backdated games, but that's exactly what they are. If you want to play Tony Hawk 2, buy the first Playstation and save yourself the hundreds of dollars. Xbox works on HD and SD tvs so that's not a problem and there's definitely no shortage of games.

It depends on the individual because they are two different games and are both great games, I don't have a preference.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
