Not a fan of either but I would choose a Glock over the H&K...I do not like the trigger or the overall weight of the HK. As for the other part...I would wait to buy something you really want.
If this is a gun for self defense/combat and not just plinking at the range, you are going to want a dependable gun. Not just "yeah it's good", but a you can bet your life on it good, cause that what it will come down to when you need to use it. The glock is one of the most dependable firearms there is.
I have had tons of guns, and I have had the fewest problems with my glocks. Check out this guy on youtube, he torture tests a glock and some of his vids are done with USP's aswell. This is the reason I wouldn't buy a USP for a defensive gun.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
