Which is better for reading ebooks: kindle or ipad?

It depends. If you like to read novels then Kindle. It's easy on the eyes because it's actually ink that is shown on the screen and there is no back light so my eyes do not get tired.

The device is incredibly light and it literally disappears in your hand. If you want to read textbooks, with lots of diagrams then iPad. The iPad is like a computer and can render images much better.

The downside is that it's like a computer screen and back light. I tend to get eye fatigue reading on my computer for long periods. At the end of the day, for novels, images/videos/color won't do a better job of making Nick's character in the Great Gatsby 'pop' better than my imagination can.

If anything, it would be distracting to my experience.

I didn't know about the Kindle Ink advantage. I wonder why people were buying Kindle when iPad is very close in price. Would you buy an iPad for the additional functionality and tolerate the differences when reading a novel.

No, I value reading too much to sacrifice the benefits of the Kindle over the iPad. If I didn't read as much and my reading was blogs/internet then an iPad would be a better purchase. BTW - the kindle is only $139 now, much cheaper than the cheapest iPad.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
