I'm proof reading the manuscript of a non-fiction book and the author uses "MGM" when referring to the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer movie studio, but I don't think that's technically correct. I think it's "M-G-M" but before I ask the author to make 9000 corrections, I want to be sure. Asked by duhaussie 53 months ago Similar questions: correct writing MGM M G M Arts > Writing.

One of the more memorable years at the Academy Awards® was in 1939 when MGM’s Gone With the Wind and MGM’s The Wizard Of Oz were both nominated for Best Picture. Gone With the Wind took home Best Picture that year, along with 8 other Oscars®. The Wizard of Oz secured two Oscars.
