Which is the Number One University in Australia? ANU, Melbourne, Sydney or others?

Melbourne University, by 2000, was the best university in research in Australia, meaning the one with highest level of production of papers, I know because I looked for that sort of data back then. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
