Dreamweaver is far superior. There are a few points to consider in this topic: Dreamweaver is (mostly) Standards-Compliant, meaning that it follows the W3C standards for creating web pages that will work in any browser that follows the rules. FrontPage still uses many HTML tags that are no longer supported under the current standards.
Dreamweaver's support for CSS editing is much more robust and easy to use, making pages much easier to maintain and update across a whole site. Dreamweaver is still supported and updated. Since Macromedia was purchased by Adobe they have incorporated Dreamweaver into the Creative Suite line it has seen many improvements.
Frontpage is no longer produced by Microsoft; they have discontinued it at version 2003. The replacement product is called Expression Web. Dreamweaver comes with built-in reference material including HTML & XHTML: The Definitive Guide, Sixth Edition from O'Reilly Media.
FrontPage has some built-in reference material, but it is of the typical Microsoft Help variety. Dreamweaver supports server-side programming in PHP, . NET, ASP, ColdFusion and many other languages, FrontPage only supports .

Eventhough the learning curve to learn Dreamweaver is steep, but once you get hang of the features, your job creating a webpage will be easier. Your own templates - You can create your own templates, and as a web designer, with the templates, changes request by the clients on web pages will easier to update. Edit hundreds of pages of the website with one single clickLess trash in coding - unwanted or unnecesseary coding will not be added thus improve the loading time of the web pages.
(FrontPage as I known always added unnecesseary coding to the web pages)One of the 'cool' features that Dreamweaver posses is the viewing mode; can be code based editor; design based editor and both at the same time (Split View feature that displays the WYSIWYG view alongside the code view, letting you see your page and view or edit its internal code simultaneously. )A lot of useful extension for the Dreamweaver, a timesaving, easy to install and use. Menu extension, Database extension, shopping cart and a lot more can be found free or by purchased onlineSnippet from Adobe on ExtensionWhat is an extension?
Extensions allow you to easily add new features to Macromedia applications. Partners and customers have created many extensions available through this site that are often free. Extensions extend the functionality of the product to enable you to do more with it.
For example, you'll find extensions that allow you to: * Build complex interfaces with pre-built Smart Clips * Learn advanced techniques with tutorials * Integrate ActionScript code samples into your projects * Add more clip art to your built-in libraries * Create projects using FLA source filesHope my 2-cents might give you some idea on Dreamweaver. Have a nice day Sources: my opinion .
Dreamweaver Dreamweaver is the industry standard, Frontpage is a barely functional consumer tool, you might as well use Word to produce your pages. Frontpage creates "dirty" code, and lots of it, making your pages bloated, and they often will only work in Internet Explorer, while many users use firefox, opera etc as their browsers. If you are just starting out, then I recommend not using either program, but starting with plain old notepad, and going to Webmonkey to learn.
You can be coding by hand within an afternoon, it's simple and fun, and you will have full control as well as a new, marketable skill. webmonkey.com/webmonkey/frontdoor/beginn... Sources: Experience as webdev .
