Wow! I have from my viewpoint some surprising news in both the good and bad categories. First and foremost my unconfirmed Ad Revenue Sharing total more than doubled overnight from $0.53 to a not quite staggering $1.12 not much but percentages are looking good.

Now I have made most all of my revshare cash from questions.. not answers and that was surprising to me. I have more than 3 times the best answers I do questions. What is most surprising is that I have nearly all of my earnings in questions not answers. Questions 322 Best Answers 1135 I am though looking forward to learning more and more about how to ask and answer questions from the standpoint of earning revenue sharing cash and not just the best answer tip money.

Here is the trend that I see: I think that the most profitable questions will be those that need an honest answer in a niche area. Here is why I think that these things are important: 1) Honest Questions This is something that Mahalo Answers is missing at the moment. It seems that the focus is completely on volume and that honest questions have been sacrificed as a result.

When a question is asked by a person who honestly needs an answer a number of things happen. First, people who answer the question can "sense" a contrived question. People don't want to waste their time on questions that are made up or otherwise automated.

Next, both the questioner and the people answering are engaged. The person asking the question checks back regularly and comments on answers and the people answering give deeper answers to help someone else. More Mahalo Topic Pages = More money.

I'm quite convinced of that. More Questions! = More money.

I'm quite convinced of that as well. Mahalo Answers is the foundation of Mahalo's Community. Mahalo's community is Mahalo's single most valuable asset.

While I believe that Mahalo's strategy to increase the volume of questions through things such as Twitter, API importing (conundrum), seeding, etc, these efforts have resulted in artificial engagement. In terms of revenue sharing, I think that a very small number of contrived questions or answers will make money. The real money will be made by questions that you honestly need answers to.

They will be revealing, sometimes heart felt questions or questions that a large number of people have in common. 2) Niche Area I think that this will be the single most powerful consideration when positioning a question or answer to make money on Mahalo Answers. In short, I think that the formula will go like this: Do a lot of people share your question?

Is the answer that you received better than similar answers that can be found on Google? Is both the question and the answer founded in an area that is not oversaturated in Google? 0) So, the pattern that I see in questions that are / will earn money are honest questions with honest answers that are asked in an area without a lot of good competition.

Jason describes Mahalo as a trifecta of Search, Answers, and serps. If you apply his description to what I've noticed, you may see some similarities between a solid strategy on Answers and a profitable strategy in Page Management.

I'm interested in this answer, but I don't see a way to break down the points. Are you going to each answer and checking it, or do you have something on your profile that is letting you see it?

My approach assumes people are search google using natural language patterns and typing complete questions rather than words. One word search do not produce high quality results. I think people are looking for loosely coupled word correlations.

I've notice Mahalo questions surface at the top when asking a complete question. Amazing. I was surprised to see a few of my questions at the top of the search results.

I have posed a similar question as this one, with data of my top revenue Qs and BAs: http://www.mahalo.com/answers/mahalo-answers-community/now-that-mahalo-answers-revenue-share-can-be-seen-what-types-of-questions-best-answers-of-yours-have-got-better-revenue my question But nobody is answering. I think amount of tips really play a part. :-) I only have 3 best answers that are earning revenue: mahalo.com/answers/popular-websites/how-... I put in abt 50 websites there. # of answers didn’t play a big part here. I think maybe for questions and answers that are after 15 Feb, it may matter.

Amount of tip shouldn’t be a factor for Q&A before 15 Feb.

Well I don't really understand but I have not earned one penny and I've asked and answered questions 10 a day for the past two weeks. Don't the questions and answers in Conundrum Land count? Is the revenue for Answers Adsense Revenue for Mahalo only and not for Conundrum?

Well, I am fairly new to Mahalo, and don't have the foundation of questions that many others have, but so far I haven't earned a single cent on any of my questions or best answers. However, I haven't asked or answered questions with revenue in mind.

Really not seeing much or getting much. Disappointed and even more disgusted.

I have earned $Mahalo 0.81 so far from 511 Best Answers and 316 questions. None of the ones near the top have earned anything. This does not strike me as encouraging.

I suspect the type of questions I ask and answer do not generate ad revenue.

I *think* mine isn't 100% functioning yet. I haven't asked all that many Q's but a couple of them still hit several hundred views a day according to analytics. Yesterday I had 0.18 in unconfirmed adsense revenue.

Today I have 0.05. I flipped though all my questions and none are listed with anything other than 0.00. So no, I haven't noticed trends.

I would assume it's coming from my demotivational posters questions as they're high traffic and seem like they would get clicks - but who knows. I'll give it a few more days to sort itself and and hopefully the revenue increases rather than continues on the decrease it's on now! EDIT: Right, I forgot about Best Answers.

With roughly 350 of them I'd hope at least one could get revenue... guess not :(.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
